Heal To Grow

"The purpose of any relationship
is to wake up and
know ourselves and our lover
(friend, mother, sister, brother, father)
thoroughly,
without judgement or pride."

About

Therapy

IMG_3797.jpg

Our lives present internal and external obstacles to living the lives we want, and I am here to help identify those obstacles (some of which are obvious and others which are not), and to help you problem solve—which obstacles should we focus on removing first? What have you already tried? What has worked? What hasn’t? And how could we tackle your chosen areas of focus so that you experience growth?

Usually therapy delves into our life stories, our thoughts and beliefs, and the emotions life events bring up for us.  The part we often forget to address is how our experiences live in our bodies, and how that impacts our every day lives -from how you walk to what you focus on in your relationships. I use an integrated model of practice, with a focus on treating trauma in individuals and in relationships, using Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. This means I will guide you in exploring what your body can teach us about your experiences, and from there we will collaborate on finding specific tools that will address confusing or unresolved aspects of those experiences so that you can feel more empowered to create and live the life you want to live.

About me

IMG_4333.JPG

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I studied Cultural Anthropology at Smith College, and gained a Master in Counseling Psychology degree at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA.

My goal is to help people understand themselves, and the people they love, so they can be more intentional about the kinds of relationships they are a part of.

I believe it's possible to unlearn what no longer serves us, and to practice new ways of thinking, relating, communicating, and being. I look forward to engaging in this journey with you. Please reach out to see if what I offer is a good fit for your needs/goals.

How I Can Help You

Payment

For many reasons (ethical and practical ), I do not take insurance, as most insurance companies do not consider relationship issues (couples and family treatment), attachment trauma, identity issues, existential or self improvement issues coverable because they do not "meet medical necessity."

Therefore I am an out-of-network provider, and I accept credit card payments, via my Simple Practice client portal.

I offer a free 15 minute consultation to help both of us determine if what I offer meets your needs and what you are hoping for.

*At this time, all sessions are held online, via videoconferencing through a secure HIPAA compliant platform.
